Es una ciudad portuguesa, perteneciente al distrito de Braganza, en la región de Trás-os-Montes (Norte) y la comunidad intermunicipal Tierras de Trás-os-Montes, en la Tierra de Miranda. Es la sede de un municipio formado por 13 freguesias, que abarca una superficie de 488,36 km² y una población de 7482 habitantes (2011). Sus habitantes han hablado tradicionalmente una lengua distinta al portugués, denominada mirandés, una variedad de la lengua asturleonesa. En la aldea de Atenor se encuentra el Centro de Recuperación del Burro de Miranda que trata de conservar esta especie autóctona.
The town is part of the district of Braganza, in the region of Trás-os-Montes (North) and the intermunicipal community of Terras de Trás-os-Montes, in the Tierra de Miranda (Land of Miranda). It is the head of a municipality consisting of 13 parishes, covering an area of 488.36 km² and with a population of 7,482 inhabitants (2011). The inhabitants traditionally speak a language different from Portuguese, called Mirandese, a variety of the Astur-Leones language. In the village of Atenor, there is the Miranda Donkey Recovery Center, which aims to preserve this native species.
Es un municipio y localidad española de la provincia de Zamora y de la comunidad autónoma de Castilla y León.Fermoselle se encuentra situado en el confín suroccidental de la comarca zamorana de Sayago, cercado por el río Duero, al poniente y mediodía, y el Tormes, al sur, que confluyen en el paraje de Las Dos Aguas o Ambasaguas. En las otras orillas quedan Portugal y la provincia de Salamanca. Su paisaje más conocido se encuentra junto a estos ríos, lo que aquí denominan arribes, formados por las pendientes ribereñas que desde tiempos inmemorables se aprovechan para la agricultura de bancales por la bonanza térmica que propicia el escarpe y que ha favorecido el cultivo del viñedo, el olivo y frutales que no son tan frecuentes en la pinllanura adyacente.
It is a Spanish municipality and locality in the province of Zamora in the autonomous community of Castilla y León. Fermoselle is located on the south-western edge of the Sayago area in the province of Zamora, surrounded by the River Duero to the west and south, and the Tormes River to the south, which meet at Las Dos Aguas or Ambasaguas. On the other banks lie Portugal and the province of Salamanca. Its best-known landscape is found next to these rivers, which here are called arribes, formed by the riverside slopes that since time immemorial have been used for terraced agriculture due to the thermal bonanza that the escarpment provides and which has favoured the production of vineyards, olive trees and fruit trees that are not so common in the adjacent plain.
